A warm and heartfelt welcome to Vimala Public School, Thodupuzha—a community where education is a journey of knowledge, character, faith and service. It is a privilege and a profound responsibility to serve as the Principal of this institution, guided by the vision and values that have shaped Vimala over the years.
My journey with Vimala has spanned more than two decades. Beginning as a teacher, and then Vice Principal and now Principal, I have been privileged to experience this institution from different perspectives. My association with our cherished initiative, Vimalalayalam, has added another meaningful dimension to this journey. Through these years, I have witnessed the transformative power of education and the remarkable growth of generations of young people entrusted to our care. At Vimala, we believe that every child is uniquely gifted and has the potential to enrich not only their own life, but also the society and the nation to which they belong.
Our educational mission is rooted in our commitment to academic excellence and character formation, founded on strong value systems, love of God and a spirit of service to society and the country. We strive to create an environment where young minds are encouraged to think critically, question creatively, learn continuously and pursue excellence, while young hearts are formed in integrity, compassion, empathy, responsibility and respect for others.
Inspired by St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara and the educational charism of the Congregation of Mother of Carmel, we seek to educate not merely for success, but for meaningful and purposeful living. We believe that true education develops the head to understand, the heart to care, the hands to serve and the spirit to seek what is good and true.
In a rapidly changing world, we prepare our students with the knowledge, competencies and resilience they need to face the challenges of the future. At the same time, we remain firmly anchored in timeless values, nurturing young people who are confident yet humble, capable yet compassionate, ambitious yet socially responsible.
Our motto, “To Be Lights to Light Others,” expresses the heart of our educational journey. We want every Vimalite to discover the light within, develop it through knowledge and character, and use it to illuminate the lives of others. Excellence, therefore, is not simply about how far one can go, but also about how many others one can inspire, uplift and serve along the way.
As Principal, I am deeply grateful to our dedicated teachers, supportive parents and enthusiastic students who together make Vimala a vibrant learning community. Education becomes truly transformative when the school, family and society work together with a shared purpose.
